Photos from the Lanark Highlands Forest Rally

Today a number of us Ottawa area Oppo members met up in the quiet region of Lanark to watch cars drive past on rural roads. The weather was fantastic and the spectating area was !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

I took photos mostly to have a chance to explore different settings. That basically meant I took fewer than last year, but many of them turned out, minus some sightlines. It’s always cool to hear rally exhausts pop on the way by, so looking forward to the next event (probably Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft later this year).

240SX is awesome. Thanks for coming out!!!! Plus I like the purple of the civic. I think because there is always so many subaru’s I prefer cars that are not subaru haha.

The joys of processing RAW. I use an automated part of Lightroom 5 to do initial light edits and such, speeds things up. Then just go through and delete whatever I don't want to work on or output.

Start working at home with Google! It’s by-far the best job I’ve had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I can’t be the only one with a Subaru that does this. When I go around a corner particularly hard, or drive up a steep snowy incline I sing, “Su Ba ROOOO Da Duh duh DA DA DAAA Subaruuuu!” Other people do that too, right?

It should be on the MCO forum, but we generally post upcoming events on Oppo too. Last year I just searched for rally events in the Ottawa area and this came up. Unfortunately in terms of rally, there aren’t many other events until the fall.

Check out rallysport.on.ca or carsrally.ca for a list of rallies in Ontario/Canada. Not sure where abouts you are but in terms of rallies this year in the Ontario series there’s: Black Bear Rally held on the same roads as The Rally of the Tall Pines the July 11-12 weekend, Galway Cavendish Forest Rally near Peterborough, August 8th, Rallye Defi in St. Agathe QC Sept 11-12 and then Tall Pines in Bancroft, Nov 27-28. If you’re up for road trips there’s also Rallye Baie des Chaleurs in New Richmond QC (Canadian national event) or the New England Forest Rally in Maine
